This second webinar in the Playful Narrative Therapy Series focuses on Getting to know The Person and Person, Getting to know The Problem. A key method in Narrative Therapy is being able to linguistically to separate the person from the problem. In this webinar you will learn ways to assist others explore elements of identity including, values, strengths and hopes. You will hear examples of ways to listen ‘between the lines’, using the ‘absent-but-implied’ approach. Through case study presentations you will learn creative ways to investigate a problem, scale its effects and consider how central these tools are to assist recovery and identity renewal. You will also have an opportunity to practice skills in a safe, supportive and playful environment.

Presenter - Kim Billington, Narrative Therapist
Kim has been facilitating groups and workshops about storytelling, parenting, emotional intelligence and creative therapeutic work for over 25 years. She enjoys passing forward her ever-evolving counselling skills and knowledge, supporting and inspiring practitioners to discover their own style and ways to connect with their clients.
Kim’s current work includes child and family counselling, co-facilitating Men’s Behaviour Change programs and clinical supervising at Monash University.
Methods and tools in Kim’s therapeutic toolbox include, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, ACT, Creative Expressive Arts, Existential Therapy, befriending emotions using metaphors and storytelling, Tree of Life work and creative timelines to understand the life-long emergence of identity.
