Q. How can I arrange for my work to pay for me to attend a course?

A. 36 144 017 899

Q. Who can attend the training workshops and webinars?

A. All the webinars and one and two day training workshops are open to those working, studying and/or interested in the mental health sector who want to learn practical strategies in creative therapies. Psychologists, psychiatrists, ministers, doctors, nurses, counsellors, social workers, occupational therapists, teachers, and students in these fields have all attended and gained value from our training courses.

Q. Who can attend the WelIness Workshops?

A. The Wellness Workshops are open to all adult women and men who are interested in engaging in creative exercises to support relaxation and mental well being.

Q. Do I need creative skills to attend any of the workshops?

A. Definitely not! No knowledge of or skill in any of the creative methods we teach; art, music, drama, play, storytelling is required. Most of the focus of the practical training we provide is focused on the process of creativity rather than the products so in fact, the less confident you are in the methods, frequently, the more you gain.

Q. What service sectors would this benefit in learning about and applying creative therapies?

A. Counselling services, mental health facilities, drug and alcohol facilities, out-of-home-care services, schools, hospitals, aged care facilities, child care centres, disability services, justice system, volunteer services.

Q. Why is there a limit of 16 people per workshop?

A. The workshops are set at a maximum of 16 people to optimise a safe space for learning and to provide focused training, resources and support for each individual to learn practical skills.

Q. Is there a minimum number of people per workshop?

A. Typically workshops with under 6 registrations one month prior to commencement are cancelled and those registered have the option of rebooking for another date or workshops or getting a refund of payment in full.

Q. What resources are provided at the training workshops?

A.Participants receive a training booklet with a resource list, relevant handouts, a certificate of attendance. All required creative therapy materials are supplied for use.

Extra resources (books and therapeutic card sets) will also be available to purchase on the day at most workshops.

Q. Do I need to bring anything to the workshops?

A. We suggest you wear comfortable, layered clothing as the air conditioning systems rarely suit everyone in a group. Bring a pen, and we’ll provide everything else you will need.

Q. Will I be required to participate in all practical activities?

A. There will be opportunities to participate in practical activities during all workshops. While is not mandatory, active participation is encouraged and beneficial to gain experience and develop skills.

Q. Can I bring anyone with me to the workshop?

A. No. Payment made for one place in a workshop only covers the attendance of one person. While we love children and babies, due to the practical nature of our workshops, they are not suitable environments for children and babies.

Q. Do you accommodate for people with disabilities?

A. There is wheelchair access in all our venues and we can accommodate guide dogs. Those with hearing and vision impairments have attended our training in the past and found it beneficial. Please let us know if you have special needs and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Q. Can I attend only one day of a two day workshop?

A. Given the small numbers in our training workshops and the practical nature of them, attending only half a course has been found to be disruptive to group process and optimal learning for all. If you have extenuating reasons why you are unable to make Day 2 of a two day course (sudden illness or misadventure) please send us through documented evidence of this and we can arrange for your attendance in the next available 2 day course. We don’t want to be difficult but we do want to maximise learning for all.

Q. What meals and food options will be available on the day?

A. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are provided. Food requirements can be catered for by arrangement prior to the day. We cater for vegetarian, vegan, dairy and gluten free. There is also a café in or near most venues should you need to purchase other food options. Please check with us if you have concerns.

Q. Is there parking available at the venue?

A. All venues have different parking and public transport options. Please check individual venue for details. Upon registration, you will be sent a map of the venue with parking and public transport options made clearly available.

Q. What can I expect from the workshops?

A. Learning from trained and experienced facilitators, gaining of knowledge and skills, opportunities to participate in practical activities, meeting and networking with like-minded professionals.

Q. What is the cancellation policy?

A. We understand that unforeseen events can occur after booking for training events and we do try to be flexible around accommodating needs for participants. Because we value and offer small group experiential and skill based training, we have a cancellation policy that allows you to transfer your booked training to another colleague or to another course in the following 12 months if you are unable to attend training that has been confirmed.

Q. Do you offer onsite or customised training?

A. We are able to customise onsite training to best meet the needs of your staff. We offer a national service and can deliver training at a time and location to best suit the needs of you and your team. We can deliver an existing course or help you tailor make training to teams of six or more of your staff. Please contact us for details.

A. All training courses conducted are suitable for CPD for psychologists, social workers, counsellors and other allied health professionals and students. Psychologists please refer to the Continuing Professional Development Fact Sheet.
